Photographer in Cinque Terre

If you’re about to embark on the trip of a lifetime, what better souvenir could you possibly take home than a set of stunning photographs to remember it by? Booking a professional photographer in Cinque Terre is the perfect way to do this. Not only will you go home with a beautiful set of memories to look back on for years to come, but by dedicating a small amount of time to a photoshoot, you will avoid the hassle of trying to take selfies or finding strangers to take your photos for you. Once your photoshoot is over, you will be able to relax and enjoy your visit, knowing that I have taken care of capturing your visit to Cinque Terre for you.

I would love to wander through the laneways or vineyards and down to the waterfront with you, capturing you as you take in the stunning sights. My style when photographing is to document, rather than control. I’d love to create a set of natural, timeless photographs that you will treasure forever and that will transport you back to your time in Italy.

Photoshoots of up to 1.5 hours include professional portraits in Manarola (or Riomaggiore upon request and with prior organisation). Other locations are available on request and may incur an additional fee. Photoshoots are suitable for individuals, couples, families and friends. Special packages are also available for proposals.

As we wander around the town, if you’re interested, we can chat about local traditions, the best foods to try and the best places to eat and shop. I can fill you in on some interesting facts about the area and help you with some activity ideas that will enrich your stay.

Bookings made directly through this site are currently eligible for a 5% discount. The times listed are there to give you an indication and will be confirmed in further correspondence. For Half Day, Full Day and Multi-Day requests, please select the day that you would like, and we will decide on the timing together. If you don’t see a time or date that suits you, please get in touch and I will do my best to accommodate you! One hour photoshoots can also be booked through AirBNB but will not be eligible for any discounts.

  • My husband and I had such an amazing experience with Ashleigh getting our honeymoon photos done. She was so friendly and easy going and so down to earth, the whole experience was just so comfortable and so much fun. She went above and beyond and took us to so many beautiful spots to take photographs. It overall was such a lovely experience and we cannot recommend Ashleigh enough for anyone wanting to get pictures done in Cinque Terre.

  • Ashleigh took the most beautiful pictures! We have way too many to choose from. I get teary eyed whenever I look at them remembering what a fun magical day that was in such an incredible space and the pictures really show that. This is a must do to remember your time in Cinque Terre. Ashleigh is an expert on the area and knows where to take the best shots and can even help you find where to go to eat afterwards. Do not miss this.

  • Ashleigh did such an incredible job capturing my partner and I’s engagement. She brought us to some hidden gems in Manarola, perfectly framed shots for us, and was very kind, patient and considerate in her approach! She was very flexible with her time, and even stayed on a bit later than expected so that we were able to get some sunset photos as well. She was able to take some great posed photos, while simultaneously capturing candid and organic shots. Thank you for making our experience so special Ashleigh!

Why book a photographer in Cinque Terre?

There are a myriad of reasons to book a professional photographer while visiting the Cinque Terre and surrounding areas. Many clients book photoshoots to have a special keepsake of their time in the area while others do so to mark a special occasion such as an anniversary or a baby-moon.  Some clients want to capture a special moment such as a proposal or to make an announcement, such as a pregnancy announcement. Some couples want to capture their love for each other in a romantic photoshoot while other clients have their family portrait taken to mark a special trip away together. Many also enlist my help while they’re travelling so that they can have a selection of professional photographs done for them in a brief period of time, and they can then relax and enjoy the rest of their holiday without needing to worry about taking selfies or continually asking people to take their photo for them.

One thing is for certain, and that is that whatever the reason may be that you decide to book, you will walk away with a beautiful set of natural, timeless, photographs of your time in the Cinque Terre to treasure forever.

What’s included?

When you make a request to book me as your photographer in Cinque Terre, I will make contact with you to find out a little bit more about you and to discuss your ideas and hopes for your photoshoot. After chatting, and depending on what you’d like to include and where you’d like your photoshoot to take place, I will begin planning. We will keep in touch during the lead up and I will be available if you have any questions or would like to discuss anything.

During the photoshoot, I will capture you wandering around the town and taking in the sights. I will take you to a number of picturesque spots and also guide you through the photoshoot to ensure that we include some beautiful backgrounds and that you look and feel comfortable and natural in front of the camera. No prior experience is necessary.

After the session, I will get to work on professionally editing your photographs. As soon as they’re ready, I will send you a file via WeTransfer with a large selection of fully edited, high resolution, printable JPEG images. You will receive a copy of the final photographs in colour, and a second copy of each of these images in black and white. You will also receive a duplicate of these images in web resolution for easy sharing on social media and online, as well as some care instructions to ensure the longevity of your digital files.

Choosing the town for your photoshoot

Photoshoots of up to 1.5 hours and photoshoots booked on AirBNB include photography in Manarola (or Riomaggiore upon request).

Photoshoots can also be done in Corniglia, Vernazza, Monterosso, Portovenere, Biassa, or any other town for that matter.

If you’d like to have your photographs taken in a different town, please contact me beforehand to confirm that it can be done at the time, and on the day that you are interested in.

Not sure which town you prefer? It depends what sort of backgrounds you would like and how much walking you are up for.

Manarola and Riomaggiore

Included in the price.

Manarola has a diverse range of backgrounds, including some gorgeous areas with vines, beautiful side streets and the stunning and famous view. The town is a little spread out and if you hope to get to many different spots, there will be some walking and some stairs involved.

Riomaggiore has many beautiful backgrounds in a small area. There are still some stairs but there is not too much walking. The waterfront in Riomaggiore is very beautiful and there are gorgeous little side streets in which we can take photographs.

Riomaggiore

Manarola

Corniglia

+40€

The streets of Corniglia are very beautiful, as is the little cove / jetty area, but the town is very steep and perched up on the clifftop. There is quite a distance to walk uphill from the train station and so for this reason, I would recommend Corniglia as an option only if you are staying there.

Vernazza

+50€

One of the most famous towns of the Cinque Terre, Vernazza has a stunning marina. Vernazza is a little more compact than some of the other towns and is quite easy to get around. Moving away from the waterfront, there are many stairs to get to some of the picturesque locations but they are well worth the effort to see the view.

Vernazza

Monterosso

+50€

Monterosso on the other hand is relatively flat, and while there is still a bit of walking to do, it is very manageable. Monterosso is fantastic if you like beautiful doorways and the water generally looks brilliant and bright blue in the background if you’d like to have photos taken on the beach.

Portovenere

+40€

Like Monterosso, Portovenere is quite flat. While the town is quite spread out, there are many beautiful locations to take in. There is a stunning church located out on the headland with some beautiful old windows out to the sea and both the waterfront and the little street that runs through the town are stunning and make for beautiful backgrounds.

Biassa

+15€

While Biassa is not a waterfront town, it was the first town in the area – it was built before both La Spezia and the five towns of Cinque Terre. There are many beautiful old buildings, and gorgeous little streets, and it is surrounded by forest. It is also much quieter than the other towns mentioned. It would make the perfect location for your photoshoot if you love the history of the area, would like to have your photoshoot somewhere cooler and quieter, and would like some greenery in the background of some of your shots.

If you’re still not sure where you’d like to have your photoshoot, if there is a particular photo that you like, I’d be happy to let you know where it was taken.

Choosing the time for your photoshoot

Cinque Terre is an incredibly popular tourist destination and receives many visitors, year round. While the winter months are quieter, there will still always be people around, especially in the main areas where the famous views are.

When considering the light, early in the mornings and late in the afternoons / early evenings are generally the best, light wise. During the middle of the day, the light tends to be quite harsh and high in contrast, especially in the warmer months. The sun is also incredibly hot in the warmer months and there is not much shade in the towns.

In the golden hours of the evening, many people flock to the marina to watch the sunset. This is especially problematic if you’re wanting photographs near the waterfront, especially in Riomaggiore.

For these reasons, if possible, I would generally recommend booking your photoshoot for early in the morning. The light is still beautiful, soft and golden, and the main areas are far less crowded.

Investment / How long should I book for?

The most popular photoshoot is 1.5 hours. If you are booking for a couple, a family, or yourself and a friend/s, 90 minutes will allow enough time to take photographs in the main, and most iconic locations of the town, and with a number of different backgrounds, without feeling rushed. Depending on the time of day, and your preferences for locations, there would likely also be time to take photographs in the colourful laneways.

During a one hour photoshoot, so as not to feel rushed, the focus of the photoshoot would generally be on the waterfront area. There are many gorgeous and varied backgrounds in this area, without having to go very far.

If you would like a more extensive selection of backgrounds and locations, and if you would perhaps also like to visit another town, a 2 hour photoshoot or a half day photoshoot might be a better option for you.

If you’re unsure, please feel free to let me know what you have in mind and I will be more than happy to give you an idea of how long we will need to achieve what you are after.

Prices for 2 people are as follows:

1 hour > 250€

1.5 hours > 350€

2 hours > 400€

If you are in the area for a while and would like to document your travels, full day and multi-day photoshoots are also available. Not only do these photoshoot formats allow plenty of time to visit multiple locations, they also allow for activities that you might be doing to be documented, such as cooking classes, boat trips, market visits, etc. These types of photoshoots are an incredible way of thoroughly documenting your time in the area and capturing the real essence of your stay. They are also fantastic value for money as the hourly rate ends up being much more economical. Please get in touch if you would like more information.

*During a longer photoshoot, we will take more photographs and thus you will receive more final photographs if you book a longer shoot.
